Sudeley Castle

Set amidst the beautiful Cotswold countryside, Sudeley Castle, well known for its royal connections, was bought by John and William Dent in 1837, who embarked immediately upon an ambitious restoration programme. On their deaths, this task was taken up by their nephew John Coucher Dent and his wife Emma.

Much of the restoration of the castle which visitors can see today was due to the energy and inspiration of Emma Dent.

She immersed herself in re-building the castle and its collections of art, furniture and other artefacts linked with Sudeleys long history. Sudeley Castle is open to the public, and currently features an exhibition of Dents gloves from the Dents museum.

We recommend a visit to the castle shop for gifts and mementos.

Sudeley Castle is at Winchcombe, Gloucestershire GL54 5JD, England.
